A SPLASH of Bermuda blue spray paint on a man's finger helped police link him to graffiti on a toilet block, Newcastle Local Court was told yesterday.

Nathan Cullen, 22, of Queens Road, New Lambton, pleaded guilty to having used spray paint to deface the Birdwood Park toilet block in Newcastle West at 5am on March 25.

Constable Alexandra Horan said in a tendered statement that police saw blue paint on one of Cullen's fingers. The blue in a spray can and tag on a wall had matched.

The charge was adjourned to January 15 for sentence.
